In this case, I advise you to place the petals on a clean, dry towel and blot them thoroughly (but very carefully!) with a dry cloth.

Firstly, I always use very young buds to collect petals. Secondly, it is best to begin the collection process when the inflorescences are closed. I do not recommend collecting petals that have already fallen off on their own. However, you should also not use very young buds that are tightly closed. It is best to use roses that are about to bloom.

How to remove petals correctly? The sequence of actions is as follows:

Gently shake the flower to remove any insects.
Remove any damaged petals.
Pinch the petals around the base of the flower and pull gently. Do this as carefully as possible so as not to damage them.
